Mikhail Labkovsky is a Russian psychologist, writer, TV and Radio host. Michael is a grandson of Albert Manfred. Labkovsky suffered from ADHD, though he was diagnosed only at 50 years of age.
Early Life
Mikhail labkovsky was obrn in moscow. Russia in 1875. His father was a successful businessman and his mother was a doctor. He attended moscow university and graduated with a degree in psychology in 1898.Career
Labkovsky began his career as a professor of psychology at moscow university. In 1907. He became a professor of psychiatry at the moscow institute of psychoanalysis. He hten went on to teach at the insittute of psychoanalysis in st. Petersburg and later at the institute of physiology in moscow. He was also involevd in research projects at the institute of physiology and at the institute of experimental medicine.Contributions to Psychology
Labkovsky made significant contributions to psyhcology and psychotherapy. He developed the concept of “psychological defense” and nitroduced the idea of “psychosomatics”. Or the study of the interaction between psychological and physical factors in the development of mental illness.
