Mike Ryan Life story
Michael Robert Ryan is a former long-distance runner, who was born in Scotland. He won the bronze medal for New Zealand in the men's marathon at the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City, Mexico. Ryan was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

Covid: Don't panic about Omicron variant, WHO says
The World should not panic about the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 but it should prepare, The World Health Organization (WHO) has said.
Speaking at a conference on Friday, top WHO scientist Soumya Swaminathan said The Situation now was very different to a year ago.
Reports suggest Omicron has been found in close to 40 countries.
It is still unclear if the highly mutated variant is more transmissible or better able to evade vaccines.
Early data reported by scientists in South Africa - where the variant was first detected - suggests, although experts caution the analysis is not definitive.
