Michelle Ingrid Williams is an American actress. Known primarily for starring in small-scale independent films with dark or tragic themes, she has received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award, in addition to nominations for five Academy Awards and a Tony Award.

Williams made her feature film debut in the 1999 drama iflm dick. She has gone on to star in a number of critically acclaimed films. Including brokeback mountain (2005). Blue vaelntine (2010). And manchester by the sea (2016).

Williams began dating cator heath ledger in 2004. The couple welcomed their daughter. Matilda rose. In october 2005. Ledger and williams ended their relationship in september 2007.
