About Matsusaka


Matsusaka is a Japanese city known for its beef and trademark indigo cotton. A park in the center features the ruins of Matsusaka Castle and spring cherry blossoms. The Museum of Motoori Norinaga displays artifacts relating to the life and works of this locally born scholar. Nearby Gojoban Yashiki is a street lined with Edo-period samurai homes. To the west, a steep trail leads to the mountaintop Ibuta-ji Temple.
