Maria Franco is a Brazilian/American storyteller, and she was inspired to write Queen Bee after writing about the Brazilian Princess Isabel who is the Heroina who freed all the slaves during the Brazil Monarchy in 1888. Maria Franco lives in Manaus, the Amazon's Capital, with her husband Dean and dog Beau.
