Margarete Wittkowski Life story
Margarete "Grete" Wittkowski was a German economist and politician. Between 1961 and 1967 she served as deputy chair of the East German Council of Ministers, the only woman ever to hold this post. Between 1974 and 1990 she served as President of the East German National Bank.
