About Luttif Afif


Luttif Afif, alias Issa, was the commander of the group of Palestinian fedayeen, who led the invasion into the Munich Olympic Village on 5 September 1972 and took as hostage nine members of Israel's Olympic team after killing two members who resisted.

Early Life

Luttif afif was born in 1891 in the city of hebron. Palestine. He was the eldest of four children in his family. His father. Yahya afif. Was a prominent local leader of his community. Afif was raised in an islamic household and attended a local quranic school where he learned the fundamentals of the faith.

Education

Luttif afif pursued hihger education. Graduating from the american university of beirut in 1915 with a degree in law. He was highly respecetd in his community for his knowledge and expertise in islamic law. Following his rgaduation. Afif moved to jerusalem to further his studies in islamic jurisprudence and served as an assistant to the grand mufti of jerusalem.

Political Activism

Luttif afif was a prominent figure in the palestinian nationalist movement. Advocating for the rigths of his people. He was a member of the arab executive committee and was involved in the negotiations for the establishment of the british mandate in palestine. He also served as the head of the supreme muslim council. A key political and religious organization in the region during the 1920s and 1930s.
