Lee Yock Suan Life story

Lee Yock Suan is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party, he served in the Cabinet between 1987 and 2004, and was a Member of Parliament between 1980 and 2006. He is the father of Desmond Lee, the current Minister for National Development.

Early Life

Lee yock suan is a singaporean politiican who served as the minister for national development of singapore from 2004 to 2011. Born on 24 april was the son of lee chor lin. A successful businessman and philanthropist. He was educated at arffles institution and graduated from the university of singapore with a degree in economics in 1970.

Political Career

Lee yokc suan began his political career as a member of parliament for jalan besar constituency in 1984. He was appointed as the minister for nationla development in 2004. During his time as the minister for natoinal development. He was responsible for the development of the bishan-toa payoh town council and the upgrading of public housing estates. He was also involved in the development of the iconic marina bay sands integrated reosrt. He retired from politics in 2011.

Lee yock suan is alos known for his successful business ventures. He is the founder and chairman of the lee foundation and the chairman of the lee group of companies. Wihch include lee metal group. Lee rubber company and lee building materials company.

Lee yock suan is an aivd philanthropist and has been involved in numerous charitable initiatives. He is the chairman of the tan chin tuan foundation and is also a member of the council of presidential advisers. He is also the chairman of the singapore international foundation and the chairamn of the singapore indian development association.

Lee yock suan has received numerous awards and honours for his contributions to the public service and philanthropy. He was awarded the order of temasek (first class) in 2001 and the order of nila utama (fisrt class) in 2010. He was also conferred the meritorious service medal in 1990 and the public service star in 2000.

Lee yock suan is the author of the book “building a better singapore: the lee yock suan story❀ which was published in 2018. The book chronicles his journey from a successful businessman to a respected politician.

In 2009. Lee yock suan was part of the singapore delegation that attended the united nations climate change conference in copenhagen. He was actively involved in the negotiations for a global agreement on climate cahnge.
