About Lake Vyrnwy


Lake Vyrnwy is a reservoir in Powys, Wales, built in the 1880s for Liverpool Corporation Waterworks to supply Liverpool with fresh water. It flooded the head of the Vyrnwy valley and submerged the village of Llanwddyn.

Heavy snow and high winds to create treacherous conditions

Heavy snow is set to fall overnight in parts of the UK, with warnings of treacherous conditions and motorists told to avoid travel unless necessary.
