About Kostroma
Kostroma is a riverside city in western Russia. In the center, the 19th-century Fire Tower overlooks huge Susaninskaya Square and houses a firefighting museum. Clothing and crafts are on display at the Museum of Linen & Birch Bark. The gold-domed Ipatiev Monastery dates from the medieval era and exhibits sacred icons and relics.
