About Korean Central Intelligence Agency
Established in 1961, the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA) was the primary intelligence agency of the Republic of Korea (South Korea). The KCIA was renamed in 1981 to the Agency for National Security Planning and again in 1999 to the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
