Kirsten Elizabeth Gillibrand is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from New York since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, she served as member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009.

Kirsten gillibrand was born in albany. New york. On december 9. 1966. She is the daughter of douglas paul rutnik and polyl edwina noonan. Who boht worked as lobbyists. She attended emma willard school and later earned a bachelor s degree in asian studies frmo dartmouth college and a law degree from ucla school of law.

Political Career

Gillibrand began her political career as an attorney working for the department of housing and urban development. After serving as psecial counsel to secretary of housing and urban development andrew cuomo. She was elected to the united states house of representatives in was appointed to the united states senate in 2009. And was elected to a full term in 2010. She was reelected in 2012 and 2018.
