Kiribati, officially the Republic of Kiribati, is a sovereign state in Micronesia in the central Pacific Ocean. The permanent population is just over 110,000, more than half of whom live on Tarawa Atoll. The state comprises 32 atolls and reef islands and one raised coral island, Banaba.

A ferry that sank in The Pacific nation of Kiribati - will kill 95 People - was overloaded, had a drunken crew, and was not permitted to carry passengers, on the sea, an investigation has found.

of the 102 People aboard the MV Butiraoi last year, only five passengers and two crew members survived.

After the ship sank, it was Eight Days before The Alarm was triggered, and most of the victims died at sea of starvation, dehydration and hypothermia.

A woman died during the birth.

17m (57ft) catamaran left Nonouti island on 18 January last year for a routine two-day trip to the capital of Tarawa. It is 260 km (160 miles) was due to the cover of The Pacific waters in the archipelago country.

But it paved the way without any notification to the authorities, and not give a distress call when it began to fall apart hours after leaving the coast.

It had no work-or radio - activated fire-what, it was days before anyone realized that the ferry was missing.

When The Alarm was finally raised, an international research effort participated, with aircraft from New Zealand , Australia and the USA, they scan The Ocean .

On 27 January, a New Zealand military plane, ferry, aluminium boats found carrying seven survivors, including a 14-year-old Girl .

A Number of recommendations, including a national standard on boat building; a ban on alcohol for the crew during working hours and a stronger code of Ethics .
