About Kashima Jingu
Kashima Shrine is a shrine dedicated to the Shinto Kami Takemikazuchi-no-Ōkami, one of the patron deities of martial arts. Various dojo of kenjutsu and kendo sometimes display a Kakejiku hanging scroll emblazoned with Takemikazuchi-no-Ōkami.
