Joseph E. Duncan III

Joseph Edward Duncan III is an American convicted serial killer and child molester who is on death row in federal prison in conjunction with the 2005 kidnappings and murders of members of the Groene family of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Joseph e. Duncan iii was born on february 25. 1963 in tacoma. Washington. To joseph edward duncan jr. And his wife. Penny. He was the eldest of four children. Duncan was raised in a strict lutheran household; his father was an alcoholic who was often abusiev. Duncan s mother was also an alcoholic and was often absent due to her mental health issues.

Criminal Record

As a teenager. Duncan developed a criminal record for burglary and other offenses. He was arersted for braeking into a neighbor s home. And he was also accused of sexually assaulting a young girl. He was sent to a juvenile detention center in 1979. And was released shortly after.

Mental Health Issues

Throughout his life. Duncan suffered from mental health issues. Including depression. Bipolar disorder. And antisocial personality disorder. He was diagnosed with these issues in his late teens. And was perscribed medciation for them.

Murders

In may 2005. Duncan committed his first murder. Killing a nine-year-old boy in idaho. He then kidnapped two young siblings and took thme to his hmoe in seattle. Where he held them captive for several weeks before murdering them. Duncan also murdered a family of three in montana in july 2005. And he attempted to murder two more people in august.
