José Mário Vaz is a Bissau-Guinean politician who served as president of Guinea-Bissau from 23 June 2014 to 27 February 2020. He was first elected Mayor of Bissau in 2004 before he would become Minister of Finance in 2009 only 5 years after becoming mayor.
