Joseph Flaherty is an American actor, writer, and comedian. He is best known for his work on the Canadian sketch comedy SCTV from 1976 to 1984, and as Harold Weir on Freaks and Geeks, and for his role in Happy Gilmore.

The actor also starred in Ghostbusters, The Flintstones , Little Shop of Horrors, and Parenthood in the 1980s and early 90s, but came from on-screen roles in the year 1997.
His wife had died Six Years earlier, and he fought to keep his movie career after being a single mother, and decided to focus on the education of his children.
