Edward Burtynsky travels The World and tries to impression images of the impact of humanity on The Planet , from the fossil-like forms, drills in a potash mine, the bright colors of the lithium ponds.
The Canadian photo artist spent 40 Years with a focus on large-scale human activities such as mining, quarrying, agriculture, and deforestation - But he says he does not see himself as an environmentalist.
His latest project, "Anthropocene", is a collaboration with filmmakers Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier, exploring the suggestion of some scientists that a geological epoch, marked started by human activity.
It includes a touring exhibition, a book and documentary, feature-length film, premiered last year in Canada, and going to the cinema release in the USA next week.
