As Rome's Cinecitta Studios celebrates its 50th anniversary, a Japanese television crew arrives to interview director Federico Fellini (himself), who is preparing to shoot an adaptation of Franz Kafka's novel, "Amerika. " Fellini recalls the early days of his career, including his initial visit to the sound stages as a young journalist in 1938, and spends time reminiscing with Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg, stars of his landmark film "La Dolce Vita. "
