Humboldt County is a county in the U. S. state of California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 132,646. The county seat is Eureka. Humboldt County comprises the Eureka–Arcata–Fortuna, California Micropolitan Statistical Area. It is located on the far North Coast, about 270 miles north of San Francisco.
Deadly California earthquake leaves thousands without power
Two People have died and tens of thousands of households were left without power after a magnitude 6. 4 earthquake rocked Northern California .
The tremor, 215 miles (350km) north of San Francisco , has caused widespread damage to roadways.
