About Huang Chao's Rebellion
Huang Chao (Chinese:黃巢) (d. 884) was the leader of the Huang Chao Rebellion (875~884) in China that seriously weakened the once-mighty Tang Dynasty. Huang Chao was well-educated but was bitterly disappointed when he failed to pass the civil service examinations, and became a salt smuggler.
