About Honganji Yamashinabetsuin
Yamashina Mido, also known as Yamashina Hongan-ji, was a Buddhist temple in Kyoto which was used as a fortress by the Ikkō-ikki, an organization of warrior monks and lay zealots who opposed samurai rule.
