About Historic Oakwood
Historic Oakwood is a leafy, residential neighborhood known for well-preserved Victorian and early-20th-century homes in a variety of styles from Queen Anne to neoclassical and Craftsman. Ornate, marble tombs in Historic Oakwood Cemetery include the graves of Confederate soldiers and local politicians. A few homey cafes occupy former grocery and drug stores, and trendy American and Mexican eateries dot Person Street.
