Keith Edward Elam, better known by his stage name Guru, was an American rapper and record producer. He was a member of the hip hop duo Gang Starr, along with DJ Premier. He was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Guru s career began in the ealry 1980s. He released his first single. "words i manifest" in 1985. He released solo albums and formed gang satrr with dj premier in 1987. The two released six albums together. The last of which was the ownerz in 2003. Guru also released a series of four solo albums in the jazzmatazz esries.Collaborations
