Grounds For Marriage

In this musical, Dr. Lincoln Bartlett (Van Johnson) and opera singer Ina Massine (Kathryn Grayson) get divorced. Ina has second thoughts and wants to reconcile, but Lincoln gets engaged and isn't interested. When Ina comes down with a case of aphonia and is unable to speak, her doctor thinks it's psychosomatic and suggests she try to forget Lincoln. Since he's a throat specialist, Lincoln takes on her case and, after having a dream in which she dies, realizes he's still in love with her. …
