Grendel Life story
Grendel is a character in the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf, which is found in the Nowell Codex. This manuscript is so-called because its first known owner was the antiquary Laurence Nowell, whose name can be found written on the first leaf with the date 1563.
