Grant Road is known for the elegant facades of its late-19th-century theaters, including the quirky Alfred Talkies, which screens lesser-known Hindi films. Roadside stalls here sell vintage posters and movie DVDs, while Lamington Road has several electronics shops. Nearby, August Kranti Maidan, a park named for Mahatma Gandhi's 1942 independence movement, hosts the annual Mumbai Pride gay parade.
