Golde Life story
Norma Crane played Golde in the film version. Fiddler on the Roof was Norma Crane's last film. She was diagnosed with breast cancer before shooting had even started, and the only people she told were associate producer Patrick J. Palmer, director Norman Jewison, and co-star Topol, all of whom kept her illness secret.
