Gerrit Jan Van Heuven Goedhart Life story
Gerrit Jan van Heuven Goedhart was a Dutch politician, diplomat and journalist. A member of the Labour Party, he was Minister of Justice from 1944 to 1945 under Prime Minister Pieter Sjoerds Gerbrandy. He later served as the first United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from 1951 until 1956.
