Gerald William Addington was a captain in the 6th Bn. The Devonshire Regt. ( TA) and served in WWI in India, Mesopotamia, Aden, and Salonica, succeeding his father in the title early in 1915. He married Mary, only daughter of Sir Donald Campbell Johnstone, ICS.
