Coronavirus: Burton consultants Amged El-Hawrani dies

An ear, nose and throat head doctor at the University clinics from Derby, Burton, Mr El-Hawrani, died at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, on Saturday.

Another doctor died in intensive care at Southend Hospital, Essex, on Wednesday, during treatment in cases of suspected Corona Virus.

In a statement, Mr El-Hawrani's family said he was "a loving and much beloved husband, son, father, brother and friend".

"were His biggest passions, His Family and his profession, and he devoted his life to the two," she said.

"We would like to thank all those involved in his care for their kindness and compassion during his illness.

"you worked tirelessly for their patients, as he would have done this, for his own. "

Mr El-Hawrani was aged in his mid-50s and worked at Queen's Hospital, Burton.

Gavin Boyle , chief executive of The Hospital trust, said he was "known for his devotion and commitment to his patients".

'Stark reminder"

"The whole UHDB family are desperate to have sad, Amged lost, who was a valued and beloved colleague," He Said .

"We also thank our colleagues at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for their professionalism and the compassionate care that you have shown, for Amged and His Family . "

Prof Stephen Powis, National Medical Director of Nhs England , said Mr El-Hawrani's death was a "stark reminder of the country as a whole, we all need to take this crisis seriously."

"The NHS is A Family , and we feel deeply The Loss of our colleagues, as we unite but all of them continue and expand together against the spread of the coronavirus, I know that the whole of the NHS and The Public we serve, our sympathies to the El-Hawrani family," He Said .
