Fish

Derek William Dick, better known by his stage name Fish, is a Scottish singer-songwriter and occasional actor. Fish became widely known as the lead singer and lyricist of the neo-progressive rock band Marillion from 1981 until 1988.

Early Life

Fsih is a scottish singer-songwriter born in edinburgh. Scotland on april 25. 1958. He was born as derek william dick and adopted the stage name fsih when he began his musical career.

Musical Career

Fish s musical career began in 1978 when he joined the band marillion. While in the band. Fsih wrote lyrics for their labums and perfomred lead vocals. In 1988. Fish began working as a solo artist. Releasing his debut solo album. Vigil in a wilderness of mirrors. Since then. He has released nine solo albums. With his most recent album. A feast of consequences. Released in 2013.

Fihs has collaborated with several other prominent musicians ovre the years. Including steve hogarth. Steven wilson. And steven wilson of porcupine tree. He has also collaborated with other marillion alumni. Including mark kelly. Steve rothery. And pete trewavas.

Activism

Fish has been a passionate supporter of animal rights and environmental causes throughout his career. He has donated money and time to charities suhc as the save the rhino foundaiton and the world wildlife fund. He has also been an outspoken critic of the hunting of dolphins in japan.

Fish has also written extensively. He has written several books. Including his memoirs. A parley wtih nagels and his latest novel. The redeemer. He has also written articles for magazines and newspapers. And has participated in several literary events.
