About Fastest Car
"Fastest Car" tries to find out if tricked-out "sleeper" cars can keep up with exotic supercars that are known for their speed. The sleeper cars are built and modified by true gearheads before being put to the test against the supercars that are piloted by drivers who put their street cred on the line in the automotive battles. In each episode, three souped-up cars that have been lovingly labored on go head-to-head with one of the world's most sought-after vehicles. The 'Bloodhound' supercar aiming to break the land speed record
The Bloodhound is half race car and half spaceship, and a team from the UK are hoping it will eventually be The World 's Fastest Car .
It clocked 501mph (806km/h) on Wednesday, during a series of tests in South Africa . But it is still at least a year off attempting to break The Land speed record of 763mph (1,228km/h).
And the British-built straight-line racer is designed to be capable, ultimately, of reaching 1,000mph.
The BBC met Bloodhound's driver, RAF pilot Andy Green , who grew up in Hartlepool, to find out how The Car works and what driving it feels Like .
