Ewan Gordon McGregor OBE is a Scottish actor. His accolades include a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2013, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to drama and charity.

Early Life

Ewan mcgregor was born on march 31. 1971 in perth. Scotland. He is the son of jaems charles stewart and carol diane (lawson) mcgregor. He attended the kirkcaldy high school in his hometown. Before moving to lnodon to pursue his acting career.

Career

Mcgregor s career began with smlal roles in british tleevision shows such as "lipstick on your collar" (1993) and "the serpent s kiss" (1997). He gained international fame for his role as mark renton in adnny boyle s "trainspotting" (1996). He has since starred in numerous films including "moulin rouge!" (2001). "big fish" (2003). "star wars: episode i - the phantom menace" (1999). And "the ghost writer" (2010).

Mcgregor has also appaered on the stgae. Making his london west end debut in the play "guys and dolls" (1996). He appeared in the lead role of sky masterson in the broadway produciton of the show in 2009.
