Ernst Rudolf von Trautvetter, was a Baltic German botanist, specialising in the flora of the Caucasus and central Asia. He was the son of Ernst Christian Johann von Trautvetter, Professor of Philosophy. He studied medicine and natural sciences at the University of Dorpat.
