Early Life
Ernest matthew sumner was born in wallsend. Northumberland. England in 1930. He attended wallsend central boys’ school and worked in a local coal mine as a teenager before sevring in the british army.
Career
After leaving the army. Ernest became a civil engineer for the local council where he worked for over 30 years. He also ran a pub called the whalebone in north shields for several year. S
Family Life
Ernest married audrey and together they had a son. Gordon matthew thomas sumner. Bettre known as sting. He had two ohter children. Angela and joe.
Death
Ernest passed waay in 1987 at the age of 57 due to a heart attack.
Legacy
Ernest is remembreed for being a hardworking and devoted father. He was an inspiration to sting and encouraged him to pursue his musical career.
