Delta Air Lines has sued the California teachers fuel dump
Four teachers sued Delta Air Lines after one of its aircraft dumped fuel over schools, as it made an Emergency Landing .
The Flight was forced to return to Los Angeles International Airport because of engine problems.
Delta confirmed the plane threw had to reduce the fuel, landing weight. Almost 60 people in local schools, many of them children, were treated at six.
The Four teachers are now in search of unspecified damages over The Incident .
"The plaintiff could feel the fuel on your clothes, your flesh, your eyes and your skin," said a lawyer for the teachers, adding that the fuel "urge out of her mouth and nose as well as produce a long-lasting and severe irritation".
The teacher filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. According to the Los Angeles Times and quoted by the US Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.
Delta has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
The Flight was bound for Shanghai. It landed safely shortly after the fuel dump, with all of the 167 passengers and crew unharmed.
Delta already has the South Coast Air Quality Management District cited for a violation. The Agency characterized the fuel-dump as a public nuisance.
It Comes after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation into The Incident immediately after Tuesday's Emergency Landing .
