Edward Blaquière Life story
Edward Blaquiere (1779-1832), was a British officer and pioneer Philhellene, a founding member of the Philhellenic Committee of London. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, to a noble family of French descent who had taken refuge in Great Britain in 1685 due to the revocation of the Nantes Judgment.
