E. C. R. Lorac Life story
Edith Caroline Rivett was a British crime writer. The youngest daughter of Harry and Beatrice Rivett, née Foot, she was born in Hendon, Middlesex, on May 6, 1894. She attended the South Hampstead High School, and the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. She was a member of the Detection Club.
