Dr. Ruth Young

Doctor Ruth Young is a character who appears in the opening of the film Mighty Joe Young. In addition to being Jill's mother, Ruth was a primatologist who specialized in the study of gorillas, which was ultimately how her daughter met Joe. She is later mortally wounded by Andrei Strasser, who also kills Joe's mother.
