Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah was a Nepalese crown prince who briefly ascended to become the King of Nepal for three days from 1 to 4 June 2001. Dipendra automatically became king at age 29 when he fatally shot his parents, siblings, and five other members of the royal family during a shooting rampage on 1 June 2001.
