Lonnie Wilson (Ken Scott) returns to his Clinton, La. , home after serving a six-year sentence for manslaughter. He revives his romance with Melinda (Martha Hyer), the daughter of prominent local man Colonel Marquand (Raymond Burr) -- who's also the woman who caused the fatal accident that he took the fall for.
