Delbert Grady Life story
Delbert Grady was the first caretaker at the Overlook under Ullman's management, in the winter of 1970-71. Like Jack, he was an alcoholic. Also like Jack, he tries to murder his family – a wife and two young daughters. Unlike Jack, he succeeds. Grady's ghost appears to Jack.
