Deacon James Fay Life story
He was a farmer, a bone-setter, and a deacon of the "separate church" until it removed bodily to Bennington, Vermont, in 1761. Deacon Fay lived in troublous times; he with five others were denounced as Tories, because they could not be satisfied that it was right to take up arms against the King of England.
