Dawda Jawara Life story
Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara GCMG was a Gambian politician who served as Prime Minister from 1962-70, and then as the first President of the Gambia from 1970-94. Jawara was born in Barajally, MacCarthy Island Division, the son of Mamma Fatty and Almami Jawara.
