David Pike Watts Life story
David Pike Watts, a wine merchant, bought Ilam Hall a Tudor mansion, from John Port on his death. His daughter Mary married Jesse Russell who had inherited his wealth from his father a soap manufacturer who took on the Watts name and became Jesse Watts Russell. He then rebuilt Ilam Hall into a Gothic Revival mansion.
