He told HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur that it was known how long a treatment or a vaccine it would take to develop.
"We all have to learn to do life with this virus, our business with this virus in our presence, have social relationships, have this virus in our presence, and not to the blocking due to the widespread infections that can occur," added Mr Nabarro.
