About Darley Abbey
Darley Abbey is a villagelike suburb known for its 18th-century industrial heritage, including a complex of redbrick cotton mills on the river and neat rows of terraced houses built for the mill workers. Once part of a monastery, the rustic, stone-walled Abbey Inn dates to the 15th century. As well as meadows and a tea room, Darley Park has a walled garden containing one of the world's largest hydrangea collections.
