Cowboy From Brooklyn

Desperately searching for work, Brooklyn-based musician Elly (Dick Powell) and his partners wind up in Wyoming on a dude ranch, where Elly finds an admirer in local beauty Jane (Priscilla Lane) and starts a successful run as a cowboy singer, going by the name "Wyoming Steve Gibson. " A talent agent named Roy (Pat O'Brien) discovers the man and thinks he's an actual cowpoke, and Elly then heads back to New York to launch a new career, trying to keep his real identity under wraps.
