About Chandeleur Islands


The Chandeleur Islands are a chain of uninhabited barrier islands approximately 50 miles long, located in the Gulf of Mexico, marking the outer boundary of the Chandeleur Sound. They form the easternmost point of the state of Louisiana, United States and are a part of the Breton National Wildlife Refuge.
